Earned collectibles can turn a one-time donor into a long-term advocate by recognizing more than just financial contributions. With Panxpan’s four main categories of earned collectibles — Seasonal, Amount-Based, Collection-Based, and Custom — you can automatically reward specific supporter actions or milestones. Below, we’ll explore how each category works, why it matters, and how to incorporate them into your campaign —using a community garden theme for inspiration.

Why Earned Collectibles?

Paid collectibles acknowledge donors at the moment of giving; earned collectibles celebrate extra actions and campaign milestones—from sharing on social media to hitting funding goals. Supporters who earn and display badges feel more invested in your project. They’re also likelier to encourage friends and family to join. Like Panxpan's paid collectibles, earned collectibles are also minted on the blockchain, providing verifiable proof of your supporters’ actions and your campaign’s progress.

Seasonal Collectibles

Seasonal collectibles are valid for a specific time range and can be tied to certain donation tiers. When the time period ends, the collectible becomes unclaimable — boosting urgency. Panxpan automatically triggers these collectibles for anyone who donates within the specified window (and/or at the right tier), sending out claim links.

What You Configure

  1. Name & Time Frame: For example, “Spring Sprout” badge available from March 1 to May 31.

  2. Tier Levels (Optional): Restrict the collectible to certain paid tiers (like “Tree Planter” or “Bloom Backer”).

  3. Additional Rewards (Optional): Digital perks (progress photos, seed-planting tips) or event invites (a seasonal gardening workshop).

Community Garden Example

  • “Summer Sun” Badge: Automatically awarded to donors who give at least $25 between June 1 and August 31.

  • Extra Perk: An invite to a “Mid-Summer Garden Tour,” complete with demonstrations on growing summer produce.

Why It Works

  • Urgency: Limited time frames encourage immediate action.

  • Seasonal Engagement: Encourages supporters to revisit your campaign each season (spring planting, summer growth, fall harvest, winter prep).

Amount-Based Collectibles

Amount-based collectibles trigger when your campaign hits a particular funding milestone (e.g., $5,000 or $10,000). Panxpan automatically distributes the collectible to every donor who contributed before or upon hitting that milestone.

What You Configure

  1. Milestone Amount: E.g., $5,000 or $20,000.

  2. Eligibility: All donors to date, or only those over a certain paid tier threshold.

  3. Additional Rewards (Optional): Could include special event invitations, early access to project updates, or sponsor shout-outs.

Community Garden Example

  • “Growing Strong” Badge: Awarded to every supporter who donated before the garden project reached $10,000.

  • Extra Perk: Recipients get an exclusive “thank you” video featuring the volunteer team’s progress on the new raised beds.

Why It Works

  • Group Celebration: Reinforces that everyone helped reach an important milestone.

  • Momentum: As you near the milestone, prospective donors may hurry to donate so they’re part of the collectible distribution.

Collection-Based Collectibles

Collection-based collectibles reward supporters for collecting a specific set of collectibles — some might be paid tiers, others might be previously earned collectibles, or a mix of both. Panxpan checks if a user meets the specified criteria (e.g., they hold 2 particular paid collectibles + 1 volunteer-earned collectible) and sends them a claim link automatically.

What You Configure

  1. Which Collectibles Count: You decide if it’s certain paid tiers, certain earned collectibles, or a combination.

  2. Number or Specific Types: Define if the user needs all items in a set or just X number of total collectibles.

  3. Additional Rewards (Optional): Could include physical merch (like T-shirts) or VIP event access.

Community Garden Example

  • “Year-Round Garden Guardian”: If someone collects both the “Spring Sprout” and “Summer Sun” seasonal badges, plus the “Garden Guardian” paid tier, they automatically unlock this exclusive badge.

  • Extra Perk: A free one-on-one garden consultation with the head gardener and a special seed kit for their own home garden.

Why It Works

  • Ongoing Engagement: Supporters stay active across multiple seasons or tiers, trying to complete the “full set.”

  • Community & Fun: Fosters friendly competition as supporters show off which badges or paid tiers they’ve collected.

Custom Collectibles

For anything that doesn’t fit Seasonal, Amount-Based, or Collection-Based, organizers can create a Custom earned collectible. These however dont automatically execute. You'll need to manually generate or send claim links.

What You Configure

  1. Name & Description: For example, “Neighborhood Ambassador” for someone who brings 5 new donors.

  2. Manual Distribution: You personally confirm eligibility and send out the claim link.

Community Garden Example

“Compost Crusader”: Awarded to volunteers who set up compost bins or educate neighbors on composting.

Extra Perk: A public shout-out on your campaign page, plus a special composting workshop invitation.

Why It Works

• Flexibility: Perfect for unique actions or one-off events.

• Personal Touch: Manually sending these collectibles lets you add a heartfelt thank-you message.

Setting it up in Panxpan

  1. Initial Configuration

    1. Decide which Seasonal, Amount-Based, and Collection-Based badges you want to automate. Specify time windows, donation tiers, or milestone amounts.

    2. For Custom badges, you’ll handle sending claim links manually.

  2. Add Additional Rewards

    1. Every collectible—regardless of category—can offer extra perks, like downloadable content or real-world invitations.

  3. Communicate & Promote

    1. Your campaign pages will automatically inform users of eligibility rules for your earned collectibles within the earned collectibles section.

    2. Let supporters know about each earned collectible you're offering and how they can qualify. Update your campaign description, share on social media, or send out emails.

    3. Example: “Volunteer twice this month to earn our ‘Compost Crusader’ badge—plus an invite to our special composting workshop!”

  4. Monitor & Celebrate

    1. Track who’s earning collectibles in your dashboard. Recognize top collectors publicly on your social media accounts or community groups.

Earned collectibles go far beyond simple tokens—they’re a dynamic engagement strategy that galvanizes supporters to stick around for the long haul. By combining Seasonal, Amount-Based, Collection-Based, and Custom badges—plus optional perks—you’ll cultivate a vibrant, interactive supporter base.

Whether you’re running a community garden or another passion project, these earned collectibles will help you acknowledge every effort—big or small—and inspire your supporters to stay actively engaged. By the time your campaign wraps, you’ll have a flourishing network of champions who are proud of the badges they’ve earned and excited for what’s next.
